A Memphis Teen recently got shot in the head while participating in an online challenge, ‘No Lackin Challenge’. Three teenagers were taking part in this challenge at a cafe in Memphis, Tennessee and it ended in one of them accidentally getting shot in the head. After this freak accident, he was rushed to a hospital where his condition is reported to be critical, as per local police.
The 17 year old teenager, whose name has not been disclosed, was accidentally shot by the other participant in the challenge, 21 year old Sherman Lackland. This internet challenge involved two people holding guns on each other without firing shots. However, the 17 year old was shot and the bullet hit him in the head.“A real loud bang, then I see the guy across from him fall in the floor,” an eyewitness told local media.
Internet challenges are quite the rage these days. It feels like you get tagged in one of those challenges every other day where you have to post a photo or create video, or do something hilarious, or stupid. There’s a new one coming out almost daily and it has attracted the attention of all the cool kids in the block.
An affidavit has now claimed that Lackland fired his weapon accidentally and it was unintentional. Despite his claims, charges have been pressed against the 21 year old and he has been charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and unlawful possession of a weapon. As of this moment, it hasn’t been proven if this was an unintentional shot or was the trigger pulled in the heat of the moment.
There has been a sharp rise in the number of internet challenges of late. While these challenges have been around for a very long time, the first one which caught global attention was the ice bucket challenge aimed at raising funds for ALS patients. Since then there have been many challenges which have been coming out – including dangerous ones such as these!
