The game is certainly a solid and well designed in terms of animations. Age of Wonders: Planetfall is a tactic full combat game seeming like a hex-based XCOM on a large scale. The game is wrapped in a strategic layer. Talking about Age of Wonders: Planetfall, is you need to expand your kingdom across the map doing all the usual stuffs like moving tech tree, wiping rogue, hurting rivals etc.
Age of Wonders: Planetfall is wonder in itself
When the gunishment begins its time for zooming into the hex. When playing in a hex based map with the troops with everything laid out to enjoy the turn based fun.
The connecting pin between both the modes is the leader, The RPG styled figure who acts both as hero and figurehead in the tactical game. The options of switching society bonuses and research options is only possible through perks.

The tactics and strategy has always been the heart and soul of the Age of Wonders game. The overall combination of the game works tremendously well.
The tactics and strategies take you a long way in the game. There is a good depth of systems configured to pose challenges on the battlefield as well as for unit mods.
Master your gaming skills
You need to be master both of the essential skills as the AI is highly competent and will use all of his tricks under sleeves to put you down. So why on earth with all the quality, Age of Wonders: Planetfall has a mediocre game energy.
The problem in Age of Wonders: Planetfall is not with the setting which is quite well conceived. Everything of the game seems to be falling in the right place but still the game misses that little cliche of excitement.
The problem with the game seems that it has so much of snippets. But they are not presented in a coherent manner which puts the game behind. With the game having tactics and strategies you will never feel bored in the game which offers everything. But lacks with some of key features.
