With three remakes already this year alone from Disney, it is highly probable that Disney will also make sequels for them. The Lion King, Dumbo and Aladin didn’t exactly steal the show. But with good performance did steal the hearts of the audience. Disney is currently on a spree of remaking the original classics. Maleficent: Mistress of Evil’s trailer is already out and fans are loving it. Fans have already showered hearts for Aladdin as the movie grossed 1 Billion USD on Global box office. Thus, there is talk going on for Aladdin 2, revealed by Dan Lin. Dan Lin is the producer of Aladdin.

Directed by Guy Ritchie the movie had both amateur and mature cast intermixed. Whilst there were young talents like Naomi Scott and Mena Massoud there were also well-known actors such as Will Smith and Marwan Kenzari.
Fans were initially skeptical of Aladdin 2, however in spite of mixed reviews from critics, fans still showed up to theatres and finally, Aladdin proved to be the 5th highest grosser of 2019 till now. Initial reactions were not good, as fans didn’t like the Will Smiths take on Genie. The movie turned out better than expectations.

Dan Lin on Aladdin 2
Dan Lin while inquired about thoughts on Aladdin 2, replied,
“I would say resoundingly audiences want to see more. They’ve watched this movie multiple times. We have lots of fan letters about people who really go back and they bring their friends and bring their family. And so we feel like there’s more story to tell.”
“We’re really looking at what’s been done before in the past and the home video, and there’s just more story to tell with the underlying materials. So without giving away too much, we are certainly exploring.”
Thus, Team Geek is pretty sure that the release of Aladdin 2 will be scheduled for late 2021 or early 2022. Still, no further comments are being made on either spinoffs or sequel, Aladdin 2.
