Alita: Battle Angel 2 will get confirmed at one point given how much fans are demanding Disney for a sequel. But with the year about to end, we might get an official update on Alita 2 in 2020 only and it means there will be a huge delay for the movie to arrive in theaters.

There are high chances that ‘Alita: Battle Angel’ sequel release date is delayed for 3 to 4 years. Disney might greenlight sequel soon and even after that, we won’t see ‘Alita: Battle Angel’ 2 until 2023 or 2024.
‘Alita: Battle Angel’ Release Date Estimate: When will the Sequel Come Out?
Alita: Battle Angel was always planned as a trilogy by James Cameron and the man himself takes so long between two movies. It will be more than 10 years since fans have been waiting for Avatar sequels and they will release in late 2021. Jon Landau, the co-producer of Alita movie revealed that even if Disney confirms ‘Alita: Battle Angel 2’, they might not able to deliver it very soon and it won’t premiere until 2024.
It is not a normal movie, given the high budget, special effects, CGI, VFX and sci-fi elements, a lot of time will go into the development of the movie. There are some rumors which state that the script for ‘Alita: Battle Angel’ sequels are already written and even if it’s true, the movie can’t release before late 2022.
Why is ‘Alita: Battle Angel’ Sequel Taking so Long?
It is not like Alita: Battle Angel sequel is delayed due to any business-related reasons, any blockbuster sci-fi Hollywood movie takes years in the development process. The scriptwriting takes 12 to 18 months, then pre-production for about 10 months, filming with actors can take six months or more, and at last, the post-production and special effects also take around a year. It is why ‘Alita: Battle Angel’ 2 won’t come out any sooner and will be delayed for several years.
