The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) appointed Former captain of India, Rahul Dravid as Head of Cricket at National Cricket Academy, Bengaluru on Monday. Rahul Dravid has showcased his exceptional skills in 164 tests and 344 one-day internationals. The prolific batsman has scored over 10,000 runs in both the formats. Now, he’ll take charge as the Head of Cricket at NCA.

Dravid’s duties as Head of cricket
- Dravid will look after all the cricket related activities at the academy. He will take part in coaching, mentoring and training activities. Motivating the players, coaches and support staff will be one of his vital jobs.
- He will work with the head coaches of national men’s and women’s teams.
- He will also work to monitor the progress of training objectives and deliver necessary inputs to the coach of developmental teams.
- Rahul Dravid will also travel with India A and U-19 teams for which he will have to spend more time at NCA instead of spending time with the junior teams.
BCCI to pick NCA’s Head of Education
For the first time, BCCI will interview at least five candidates for the post of Head of Education at NCA. Rahul Dravid, along with five other panelists will do the final shortlisting process. The same panel will also shortlist the candidates for coach of batting and bowling at the academy. It is expected that as the Head of Cricket, Rahul Dravid will take the best possible decision for the welfare of the academy.
