However, Valve has laid aside Gordon Freeman but Black Mesa and its developer Crowbar Collective is up to something very unique and exciting. They have announced that Xen and Gonarch’s Lairs will come to the beta branch on 1st August with all the chapters. Apart from this, they have also promised to release the rest of the levels of the remake of classic Half-Life in few weeks. This is definitely a great news for the PC gamers.

You’ll be entering the first two chapters of the game in public beta on 1st August. The rest three chapters, Interloper, Nihilanth and Endgame are expected to release in the coming weeks or months.

In the original Half-Life, there is not much about the alien world of Xen. But, in this update, the Xen campaign will get a full expansion. This will make it close to a full-length game. Rather than simply making a Xen remake, Crowbar Collective has originally worked upon the levels and designs of the game. This made the development of the campaign a bit time-taking. Xen’s beta is also expected to have a complete 4K experience.

Once all the bugs of the game are fixed, it will leave its beta phase. If you have access to Black Mesa which is currently being sold, you will be able to find Xen’s public beta in the Steam Beta tab in the Properties menu.

So, if you are one of those who still have a regret of not finishing the Half-Life game officially, the developers are currently working more and more on recreating this project. Thus, there’s a lot more Half-Life left to be played.
