Halle Bailey to star as Ariel in The Little Mermaid live-action remake
The 19 years old R&B singer is selected for the role after tiresome search-work. The director of the live-action remake Rob Marshall announced the news. He said that after extensive searching it was finalized that Halle possessed the rare combination of innocence, heart, spirit and youth.

Disney is praised for its impartial judgement
Halle Bailey said that getting the iconic role is like a dream come to for her. She expressed her joy to her fans through the medium of her tweet. People even praised Disney for their colourblind casting and fair judgment.
However, this is not the first time Disney has shown an impartial judgment. Disney has shown its prudence time and again by casting a woman of different colour in the roles of a traditionally white princess.

The production is speculated to begin from next year. Melissa McCarthy is going to play the role of Ursula if certain reports are trusted. Jacob Tremblay is another celebrity who is anticipated to be a part of the remake.
Halle Bailey is known for her musical duo with her sister Chloe. The duo garner population under the name Chole x Halle. This role will be another milestone in her life.
