The disappearance of gigantic mountains and cities are things that happen in movies and books. However, it looks like mother-nature is out to prove her power. The mysterious Mountain who owes its existence to an earthquake is dead according to NASA. Well, its all a game of nature!!

Mysterious Earthquake Mountain speculated to be dead!!

The not-so-gigantic mountain originally came to life because of a monstrous Earthquake in Pakistan. The island cum mountain that was formed became famous under the name Earthquake Mountain. However, its actual name is Zalzala Koh which in Urdu also means Earthquake Mountain.

The 20 meters high, 130 meters long and 295 meters wide mountain was never expected to survive. The small size of the mountain has caused experts to say from the beginning that it is bound to be short-lived. It looks like they were right!!

NASA compiled the satellite images of the past six years of the island to show the stages of its life. From composition to disintegration the  Mountain under-went various stages as depicted by the photos.

The cause of its demise is stated as the relentless crashing of ocean waves around it. The Earthquake Mountain is supposed to have gone extinct and returned back to its home in the ocean. However, NASA believes it might still be alive. NASA said in one of its blogs that the Mountain may not perceivable but its complete extinction is not confirmed.

Landsat is reported to have noticed sediment circulation around the once perceivable base. So there is still hope for its survival!!

Zalzala Koh is not the first one of its kind. One of its sibling named as Malan has eroded and risen from death almost 4 times in the past several years. Malan is reported to have disintegrated and rebuilt in 1945, 1999, 2010 and most recently in 2013.
