From a very long time, the browsing giants Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox have been in a fierce competition. But, Google Chrome has now established its huge lead over Firefox as it goes past 5 billion downloads.
Chrome is the fifth App on Play Store to reach this mark
For those who are wondering that Chrome is the only Google App to reach 5 billion downloads. Apart from Chrome, YouTube, Google Maps, Gmail, and Google Search have already achieved 5 billion downloads. Google’s browser even comes pre-installed on many Android smartphones across the globe. This cuts the users time of manually downloading it.
However, the rival Mozilla Firefox has achieved only 100 million+ downloads till now. This means that Firefox has to go a long way for winning the hearts of users to take lead from Chrome. Statista, the data firm in March 2019 claimed that Google Chrome has about 69.52 % market share whereas Firefox has a 9.58 % market share. This shows Chrome’s significant lead over Firefox.
