Google has come out with a new design for the page which shows search results. It has specifically come out of portable devices such as mobiles and tablets. The new design puts website branding at the front and at the centre. Google made the change to aid the users in understanding the source of the information in a better manner.
The changed design is available only to a select few users at the moment and should be rolled out for all users soon. Google hasn’t announced when the same is going to happen for people who use the search on their desktops.
“With this new design, a website’s branding can be front and centre, helping you better understand where the information is coming from and what pages have what you’re looking for,” said Google through a blog post.
The updated design will provide Google with options to add more useful stuff to the search results like more action buttons.
“As we continue to make new content formats and useful actions available—from buying movie tickets to playing podcasts—this new design allows us to add more action buttons and helpful previews to search results cards, all while giving you a better sense of the web page’s content with clear attribution back to the source,” Google wrote.
What are the changes?
With the new structure, the name of the site and symbol will show up at the highest point of an outcomes card, trailed by page title and the depiction of the page. Prior, the page title would show up at the top, trailed by the URL or site name, and the page depiction.
Also, the promotions will currently be joined by an intense advertisement mark, rather than the past green name. The promotion name will appear in the spot of the site symbol (favicon) on ads.
Google is also working to convey a few additional progressions to the portable hunt over the coming months. The organization had reviewed a portion of these progressions like AR query items and full inclusion.
