Life is no cake walk or bed of roses and this quite clear to all. It’s more like a roller coaster ride, sometimes your eyes are closed and you hold on in sheer terror while sometimes just throw your hands up and enjoy.
The pleasure and gloom are a package deal of life, like two sides of a coin. One cannot be attained without the other. It’s a sordid deal no doubt, but there are no other alternatives to replace it with.
Hugh Jackman explains how he almost got fired from X-Men
Hugh Jackman recently unveiled one of his biggest breakdown moment. During his stage show Hugh Jackson: The Man. The Music. The Show, the 50 years old American actor revealed that he nearly got sacked from Wolverine.
The role that catapulted him to the super-stardom status could have so easily slipped from his fingers. He said
“Five weeks into shooting X-Men, I was on the verge of getting fired… The head of the studio pulled me aside at lunch and he told me that they were worried at the studio, that they weren’t seeing on camera what they’d seen in the audition.”
However, this was not the end of Hugh Jackman‘s trouble. The very next day the director pulled him aside to express similar concerns. The word was getting around and he sensed the trouble that was on its way. Of course, he panicked, for God’s sake he too is human and this film was his biggest break, something for which he might have been waiting for a really long period of time.
He even reveals how he overcame the situation
He told the overflowing London crowd that he was angry and so he went back home to gripe about it to his 24-years old wife. Well, he did not mention the age, I happen to know it so I added it for your benefit.
He complained at an Olympic level speed, whining and moaning about different people. He further explained to the people that it was his wife Deborra-Lee Furness who helped him in overcoming these dark times.
She listened patiently for almost an hour and then said the most-simple yet an honest thing. She said
You are worrying way too much about what everything else is thinking. Just go back to the character, focus on that, trust your instinct… you’ve got this.
He said it was all the encouragement that he needed. He further said
“To me that was love. Someone that believes in you when you don’t fully believe in yourself,”
Well, his explanation of love is quite true for faith is undeniably the foundation of love. Throughout the show, he talked freely and openly about his wife, his children and his father.
Things turned out in his favour eventually and as often said the then status quo changed. He has played the role of Wolverine for past 16 years and holds the Guinness world record for ”longest career as a live-action Marvel superhero”.
Hopefully, he will never face any similar situation in his life again. However, even if he does we know that Deborra-Lee is there to sort it out for him. Check out The Geek Herald for more exciting updates.
