The much-anticipated HBO series’ Invisible Stories is soon gonna hit the entertainment platform. What makes it more interesting is the show will be far from the glee and glamour of rich city life. It will show the flip of the coin which was under the wraps till now.
The previous lavish stories
Before this, the 2018 film based on Kevin Kwan’s novel rose more curiosity to see the reality of Asians. And the recent Netflix’s romcom, Always Be My Maybe was based on the teen-life of two Asian-Americans.
Invisible Stories- Plot
The Singapore’s government owned Info-communications Media Development Authority (IMDA) is partnering with HBO for this series. Invisible Stories will revolve around the residents of a public housing block, the place where most of the Singaporeans live.
Director Ler Jiyuan also knows this place pretty well as he himself lives in one of these government subsidised apartments. According to him, about 80 percent of the total population resides in these apartments.
Six episodes, six different stories
Instead of following a complete narrative in all six episodes, this series will narrate six different stories. All the stories will feature different casts too.
The first story will describe the life of a struggling mother with a son suffering from autism. Ler was interested in this subject from a long time as he sees his two cousins suffering from this disease. So he wants to take a dig in this story.
The team says that this series will show a complete different world of the Singaporeans. This will peel off the harsh realities of the hawkers’ surrounded lanes and the hustle-bustle of HDB flats.
Now, after knowing such interesting facts about the series, we are more eager to watch it.
