James Gunn is already on board for directing DCU Suicide Squad 2. However, like the first part is there a possibility that Batman will have a cameo in the sequel too?
Fans are eager to know what James Gunn has up his sleeve for his debut in DC. The first part of the Suicide Squad was a miss but still received mixed reviews. However, it still grabbed an Oscar for Best Makeup and Hairstyling which put it into the limelight again.
The main ‘centre-of-attention’ in the movie were Floyd Lawton a.k.a Deadshot played by Will Smith and Harley Quinn played by Margot Robbie.
Jared Leto who portrayed The Clown Prince received harsh comments from fans and critics equally. Still, the movie was pretty decent and had its moments. The Batman cameo took fans with surprise as there was a short fight between Deadshot and Batman. Fans loved the cameo portrayed by Ben Affleck.
Batman and The Suicide Squad 2
As the future of Ben Affleck in DCEU has ended officially and a new Batman has already been cast (Robert Pattinson), the cameo role is left more to the imagination. Still, James Gunn confirmed that Batsy-fans will be somewhat disappointed as there is no cameo of him. He commented,
“You can check out Batman in #TheBatman, June 2021. #TheSuicideSquad will feature mostly, you know, The Suicide Squad,”
Fans were continuously asking Gunn regarding the cameo, thus he gave such an answer. However, it is a possibility that Batman will be referred many times in the movie as almost all DCEU movies had that (recently in Shazam).
Gunn still dodged the question that, if the Suicide Squad 2 is a reboot or a sequel. However, Peter Safran confirmed that it is a total reboot of the original. Still, the return of Harley Quinn and many OG characters is a mystery.
