Julian Assange and Wikileaks ‘leaking’ crucial information without authority? Here’s everything about Julian Assange’s arrest. Julian Paul Assange, an Australian Journalist, Computer Programmer and co-founder of Wikileaks was under investigation for unlawful violations of cyber rules. He was charged with the conduct of cybercrime in the US in 2012.
Recently in 2019, a previous indictment from 2017 was made public which led to his arrest by the Metropolitan Police of the UK in London.
Julian Assange: Charges and Allegations
The indictment charged Assange for Conspiracy along with Chelsea Manning (former army intelligence and analyst) for obtaining and publishing secret information and confidential documents some of which revealed the identities of Foreign entities and bodies providing aid to the US military abroad.
"Yesterday is a day that will live in the history of journalism," says Pentagon Papers source @DanielEllsberg on the indictment of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange. "There hasn't actually been such a significant attack on the freedom of the press … since my case in 1971." pic.twitter.com/6Lt2KGEktT

Along with this indictment, Julian Assange was charged with 17 more criminal counts. The arrest by UK police was made on 11th April 2019, as Assange failed to appear in court for his hearing and can possibly face Extradition in the US.
The 17 counts include 3 counts of obtaining information regarding National Defense and 13 counts regarding Disclosure of National Defense information.
The US also charged Julian Assange with violation of the Espionage Act. If convicted, Assange shall serve a period of 10 years in Prison for each of the new counts.
The fascist nature of the charges against Julian #Assange is demonstrated by those that relate to documents about Guantanamo Bay and "CIA detainee interrogation videos" — torture videos. If the courts in Britain do not stop this grotesque charade, justice will lose all meaning.

Julian Assange is under British custody after been removed from Ecuador’s Embassy in London having lived there for the past 7 years. Authorities hope for Assange’s extradition by the US so that he can face charges.
But actual war criminals like Bush, Cheney, Blair, Obama, Hillary, Netanyahu, Cameron and Sarkozy who actually murdered millions of human beings in illegal wars, face zero accountability for their crimes and atrocities?
