Krypton Season 2 & Lobo: All You Need to Know

Still from Krypton Season 1

Syfy has recently released the teaser for Krypton Season 2, and it sure looks interesting. The teaser has piqued the interest of fans, and has left many enigmatic questions.

Krypton soon became popular with its first season. Fans now don’t have to long enough before Krypton season 2 is aired. Though Krypton was not exactly critics favorite, fans love watching Ka-El’s grandfather facing the villains. These villains who are trying their best to travel back in time and stop Superman from surfacing.

Is Krypton Season 2 coming back:

Krypton season one reported around 2 million viewership each week. And it was the most-watched season in its debut season on SyFy since the last four years.

And owing to the positive response in US, even before Krypton had finished with season 1 airing, Syfy had confirmed that it wanted Krypton to take the story forward. So, there’s a definite good news for all the Krypton lovers, it was renewed for season 2. We will be soon seeing Superman’s dad, Seg-El Shippers on the US cable, SyFy.

Krypton Season 2 Trailer

SyFy released a 32 second teaser, giving us a glimpse of Krypton Season 2. This brief glimpse of Superman’s ‘S’ symbol looks replaced by the emblem of the House of Zod. The trailer includes the words: “The symbol you know is no more.”

The replacement of the Superman symbol and these words give us an idea about what the Krypton Season 2 could entail. It points to two crucial things- one to the villain who’s replaced Brainiac is Zod, and the show’s ambition. Creating an alternate reality from which Superman has been erased from existence.

By the end of season One, Zod had succeeded in this mission, but it seems Krypton Season 2 will be full of surprises and twists.

Comic-Con International at San Diego in July 2018, a longer trailer was released. But this trailer does not give us much insight about the upcoming season. It is more of a flashy summary of the show’s first 10 episodes.

Krypton Season 2 Plot

Well, the main plot remains the same and it is obvious – about Superman. But there are so many other loops from season one. And Krypton Season 2 will definitely answer some of the mysteries, and take the story forward.

Zod is set to overpower the entire galaxy, Doomsdays’s  free while Adam Strange is being held hostage in one of Brainiac’s collection of bottle cities. There is a lot to look forward in the coming season of Krypton.

There will also some newer plots and twists. DC character cameos will make there guest appearances in Krpton season 2 as well. A New Gods reveal (that might could include Darkseid) has been teased, which would be really awesome!

“We’re blessed to have the whole DC toy box, more or less, at our disposal,” showrunner Cameron Welsh said. “So far, everything that we’ve wanted, we’ve been able to get. In fact, we’ve been given a whole lot more that we wouldn’t have dared ask for, so we’re lucky.”

In Season One We’ve already been entertained by the two voices of Adam Strange’s friends, Sardath and Alanna. Krypton Season 2 might have Hawkgirl and Green Lanterns appearing in later episodes! DC fans can certainly not hope to miss this one!

Another thrilling factor will be the introduction of a new character, Lobo.

Krypton Season 2 Cast: Who is in the Cast?

The core cast will mostly remain the same. And we expect Brainiac (Blake Ritson) to come back for season 2, though he ended up in the Phantom Zone. Shaun Sipos (Adam Strange) and Colin Salmon (Zod) will join the cast for sure.

As well as, Nyssa-Vex (Wallis Day), Lyta-Zod (Georgina Campbell), Jayna-Zod (Ann Ogbomo), Dev-Em (Aaron Pierre), Jax-Ur (Hannah Waddingham), Kem (Rasmus Hardiker), Val-El (Ian McElhinney) and potentially Daron-Vex (Elliot Cowan) – And though Daron Vex is no longer alive, he might still join the cast as being dead does not mean much on krypton.

The most interesting addition to the cast is Emmett Scanlan. He will be  playing the iconic DC comics villain Lobo. A character that DC fans are eagerly waiting to watch over. Lobo wanders around the universe, riding on his motorbike and kills whoever stands his way.

Lobo in Krypton Season 2

There is no doubt that all hell will break loose with Lobo in krypton. Producers of the Syfy show confirmed the news during their panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday (July 21).

If you’re yet not familiar with Lobo, he’s a pretty hard character. He was born as a devil on the peaceful planet of Czarnia. In the comic series, he murders his entire civilization in order to become the last of his race. His name actually means “he who devours your entrails and thoroughly enjoys it”.
