Have you heard one of those rumours which stated that Matthew Vaughn might make Man of Steel 2? If yes, then you must still be wondering where they came from and whether they are true or not. These rumours excited many Man of Steel fans, forcing them into speculating its return.
However, things didn’t heat up much after that those rumours started to fade in the background as more intriguing ones came into existence.
Matthew Vaughn talks about Man of Steel 2
Man of Steel was a reboot of the Superman film series. Directed by Zack Snyder, while David S. Goyer was its writer. The film was released in theatre on 14th June 2013 in 2D, 3D as well as in IMAX. The film was a great hit and earned more than 668 million dollars worldwide.
Polygon has solved the mystery. Vaughn in an interview with the Polygon for his newly produced film Rocketman claimed that the film is not going to happen. Though he was initially interested in it and gave them a little insight into his previous plans.
He said that it was official now and that all negotiations and plans have been dropped. Vaughn explained that pitch which presented to Mark Millar did not fly. Mark Millar’s comic books The Secret Service and Kick-Ass were adapted into the film.
How the film might have turned out to be
Matthew Vaughn told Polygon what Man of Steel 2 might have encased. He and Mark wanted a major Superman trilogy.
Matthew revealed that the first film of the trilogy would have been set up in Krypton. The movie’s main focus would have been Krypton as well that would be facing its inevitable explosion. The impending explosion of the alien planet definitely would have taken place. However, if their plan is considered then it that was going to happen much later in the timeline.
Superman would have grown up on his own planet and slowly with passing time become familiar with Earth.
However, the film is no longer going to happen. All hopes that were some were somehow kept alive for almost a year after the rumours abounded have mercilessly squashed. Man Of Steel part 2 is not going to happen but as far as Superman is concerned we can still keep our hopes up. Check out The Geek Herald for more exciting more updates.
