Another adaptation of legendary video game, Mortal Kombat is coming to the big screen. The title of the upcoming movie is rumoured to be Mortal Kombat Reboot. A new line of cinema shall emerge out through this upcoming movie.

The movie is going into pre-production phase in Adelaide, South Australia this month. It’s believed that the production will be the largest in the history of South Australia. While Steven Marshall, Premier, South Australia confirms it in a press meet. Mortal Kombat Reboot will mark the debut of Simon McQuoid as a director. We can expect the production to pace up this year.
The speculations for the movie began in 2011. They hit strong when James Wan and Simon McQuoid signed the movie as producer and director in 2015. Wan has already delivered 2018’s hit Aquaman.
Other members of the crew are Larry Kasanoff of True Lies. Greg Russo will be writing screenplays and Sean Robbins of Tag. The movie has definitely fetch some of the big names under the same roof. We can surely expect a bang from Mortal Kombat Reboot.

The other adaptation of the game, Mortal Kombat: Annihilation was released in 1997. It was a sequel to Paul W.S. Anderson’s original movie in 1995. The movie managed to fetch all-time top-grossing adaptation of a video game.
Besides the two, a detailed short film, titled as Rebirth took the industry by storm. It led to a web series in Mortal Kombat: Legacy that ran for thrilling two seasons officially on YouTube.
After the record-breaking opening of Pokemon based movie, Detective Pikachu, it is crystally clear that the audience does fall for the genre. The project shall be one of the all time record-opening movie of its era. It seems that Mortal Kombat will be making a triumphant comeback.
