Four years ago, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer announced that Now You See Me 3 was in the works. So much time has passed, and we are still wondering where the third instalment in the highly anticipated franchise is. That being said, here are some details about Now You See Me 3.
When is Now You See Me 3 going to release?
Now You See Me was released way back in 2013 with Four Horsemen taking the world by storm. It also turned out to be a substantial commercial success garnering over $342,769,200 worldwide.
The second part came out in 2016 with the Four Horsemen forced to get hold of a microchip which will help Water Mabry (Daniel Radcliffe) take control of the whole world.
However, the plot of the third part is kept under tight wraps, and nothing is known right now. Most probably, it will revolve around the adventures of the Four Horsemen. That being said, it is expected that the film will be released in sometime next year.
Cast and Updates
Now You See Me 3 is most certainly going to be directed by Jon M. Chu. Neil Widener and Gavin James will do the screenplay.
Since the first part, the cast has changed a lot. Henley Reeves, who was played by Isla Fisher, did not play her role in the second instalment due to pregnancy. It is confirmed that she has quit the franchise and won’t be coming back to the screen. Also, Elias Koteas won’t be seen because of his character’s death in the second part.
Benedict Cumberbatch, known for his roles in Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Strange, will be joining the cast. However, there are no details about his role or character. It is expected that Morgan Freeman, Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco. Michael Caine, Mark Ruffalo, and Lizzy Caplan will be playing their part in the upcoming movie.
