Pennyworth actor has his favourite Batman and for a reason

Pennyworth perferes 'Bale' over 'Affleck'!

The long speculated TV series of Batman’s butler is here and fans are already loving it. The legendary butler Alfred Pennyworth is brought to life by Jack Bannon.

However, when asked about his favourite Batman movie portrayal by actor, his response was not predicted. Surprisingly, the young actor did not prefer Ben Affleck’s portrayal of the character.

Ben Affleck, a critically acclaimed director and actor, who donned the character of the caped crusader in Batman Vs Superman, received mixed reviews on his portrayal. He also reprised his role in Justice League which had reshoots with Joss Wheadon. As JL failed in both Box Office and fans hearts, DC has removed a sequel for The JL in its slate since then.

Young star Jack Bannon then explains why he prefers Christian Bale’s performance in The Dark Knight Trilogy as the best amongst all. Bannon explained himself and his thoughts as follows,

Jack on Christian Bale

Jack commented,

“Those films for me, ’cause I didn’t read comics growing up, they were the films… I was a bit young for the Michael Keaton ones, but I have since watched them and he’s also brilliant.”

DC’s hardcore fans still find Affleck’s performance as the most comic accurate in history. Affleck is now not a part of DCEU as a young actor was cast this May. Robert Pattinson is now our new Dark Knight. Pattinson’s take on the role is also receiving mixed reviews by fans. Some want to wait till his performance, others want Affleck back.

The film will be directed by Matt Reeves. The film will be titled ‘The Batman’ and will feature a Batman who is still in his young detective form. The movie is also set to feature ‘Rogues’ Gallery of villains including FireFly, Catwoman and Penguin. The cast of villains and other characters is still not done.

DCEU’s Slate

DC is currently focusing more on solo CBM’s rather than a multi-superhero movie. After JL’s failure on Box Office, WB has shifted course to a ‘solo-superhero ride’ which includes Aquaman 2, Shazam 2, Black Adam, Wonder Woman 1984, Joker, Nightwing and New Gods.

The Batman is set to release on 25th June 2021 which is a long way to go for fans. However, Pennyworth is currently running on EPIX and is a fan-favourite now.
