Just like Benjamin Button, the character of Alfred Pennyworth keeps getting younger, and now he also has his own series called Pennyworth. Who doesn’t love Batman? But the Dark Knight is incomplete without his loyal butler, Alfred Pennyworth, right?
We have seen numerous adaptations of Batman, but now it is the time for Alfred Pennyworth to enjoy the spotlight. Typically, Alfred is an elderly man from a Batman prequel series, Gotham.

Pennyworth is based on Alfred’s military background
Michael Caine played the character of Alfred in The Dark Knight, Batman Begins, and The Dark Knight Rises. Moreover, he has played one of the most memorable characters of the Batman franchise. He created a backstory that involved Alfred being in the SAS. Later on, Christopher Nolan decided to take Caine’s idea, and add it to the film.
Fans have seen his numerous retcons in comics where in some he is associated with a military background (Royal Marines) and in other continuities he has zero military experience.
