Microsoft Xbox and Sony PlayStation are arch rivals. It’s been like that from the time of the Xbox release. They have become the two top dogs of the gaming industry. But, we get to see in recent times that the competitive nature of these brands has somewhat disappeared.

They’re now looking for a more cooperative future. They want to open the channels for crossplayer movement between the consoles.  This friendly relationship between the rival brands has stemmed into a full partnership now.  They are teaming up on cloud gaming and streaming. Microsoft Azure will be catering to Sony’s future platforms that will stream games.

The employees and the team of Playstation th0ugh didn’t see the news coming.

People working with PlayStation are obviously worried about the consequences that they might face if they team up with their competitor. The team had to be calmed because of the outrage. They were also reassured that the company won’t be skimping out on the next-gen console release.

How far will the merger go?

It is very early to predict the future of this merger and we don’t know how long it will last. The companies can end up benefitting each other and creating something revolutionary with the set of minds available.

It is also quite possible that the rival team members might not be able to work together and may create a ruckus. How things will go for Sony and Microsoft, only the future will tell.
