Rick and Morty Season 4 Air Date

0

Season 3 of ‘Rick and Morty’ ended in October 2017. And the fans are waiting for the announcement of season for the last one and half year. Still there has been no official news from the makers.

Morty Smith and Rick Sanchez have taken a long break, and people are waiting for the inter-dimensional duos return. Earlier, it was expected that by summer 2019 season 4 would be aired, but now this looks highly unlikely. The fans will have to wait more.

Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland, got together to build this mature sci-fi comedy adventure series. It has grasped the imagination of many, and it grew extremely popular within the first two years of its launch. Viewers of this show claim that you can watch it only if you are ‘intelligent enough’.

Season 4 and Inter-dimensional Cable 3:

Series co-creator Justin Roiland shared an image on February 8 which hinted at inter-dimensional cable 3. He captioned the image as “Idc3 (maybe) @rickandmorty,” he  writes. “I-D-C-3” undoubtedly stands for Inter-dimensional Cable 3 (sometimes stylized as “Inter-Dimensional Cable”).

It will not wrong to assume that this recording is for Episode 8 of season 3- as in both season 1 and season 2, the concept of  a cable box that can access to the entire multiverse is shown in episode 8- “Rixty Minutes” in Season 1 and “Interdimensional Cable 2: Tempting Fate” in Season 2. Also in season 3 episode 8,  similar conceptual approach was used.

So, it can be estimated that episode 8 recording was in process in February.

Trailer for Season 4 Rick and Morty:

There are a number of videos that fans mistake for  Rick and Morty season 4 tailer/teaser.  But till date there has been no trailers or teasers yet.

Plot of Season 4:

There are speculations that Evil Morty and the Citadel could return, since one of the storyboard writers hinted on the same. Douglas Einar Oslen, a storyboard writer tweeted before the US midterm elections, on November  “Aw jeez, do we really want an Evil Morty to rule the Citadel??” (Note: This tweet has since been deleted.)

This made the fans wonder if Evil Morty will be back in season 4.

Release Date of Rick and Morty Season 4:

There is still no official news about the release date of Rick and Morty Season 4. Also, the season was renewed in May 2018. So, if we make a calculated estimation based on previous records of the season, season 4 could air anytime from August 2019.

Number of Episodes in Season 4

If words are to be believed, Rick and Morty team might be aiming for a longer episode run with Season 4, but it’s far more reasonable for us to expect the usual 10 or 11 episodes for Season 4.

Earlier in season 3, fourteen episodes were to be released. But some kind of conflict and creative differences caused a lot of production delay. And finally the usual ten episodes is what we eventually saw.

Cast and Guest Stars on Rick and Morty Season 4

The entire voice-over cast of the core characters remains the same. Co-creator Justin Roiland voices both Morty and Rick himself. Chris Parnell, Sarah Chalke, and Spencer Grammer should also return as Jerry, Beth, and Summer Smith as well.

Some character might also make its re-appearance.  Jessica (Kari Wahlgren), Morty’s longtime crush, is most likely to make her appearance.

Each season we see a number of guest celebrity do voice overs for Rick and Morty. In fact, in Season 12 there were 12 different guest stars, like Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, and Thomas Middleditch, to name a few. who knows season 4 can see some of them again!

A tweet from Sam Neil confirmed that he has done a voice over for season 4. On October 31, 2018, Jurassic Park star Sam Neill tweeted, “I enjoyed working with @RickandMorty last week ….” with a generic photo from the show’s promotional materials.

What is the Air Time?

Due to its growing popularity, Rick and Morty may acquire a favorable time slot. Though Rick and Morty has a huge and loyal fan following, who would watch at any given time-slot. But a preferable time slot will certainly be a good way to start with.

Season 3 aired on Sunday nights at 11:30 p.m. We can expect an earlier time slot for season 4.
