Rick and Morty season 4 might release sooner than expected. Or at least, that’s what the latest rumour around the block says.
Rick and Morty season 4 episode 1 to release on April fools’ day?
As a report from Hiptoro.com points out, the first episode of Rick and Morty season 3 released on April fools’ day 2017. That time too, the creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon released the episode without any sort of prior announcement as a part of “April Fool’s joke”. So it stands to reason that the showrunners might pull the same stunt with season 4 too.

Yes, the season 3’s release was more than likely pre-planned by Adult Swim (it’s just how they roll), but a fan can always hope. After all, there is no shortage of people asking for a speedy Rick and Morty season 4 release date.
In case you didn’t already know, Adult Swim even ran the premiere episode of season 3 Rick and Morty on repeat until midnight. This was soon followed by dozens of live watch parties hosted by Rick and Morty fans on YouTube where some of the over-enthusiastic fans decided to share the love with their fellow international R&M fans (since Adult Swim doesn’t currently support airing its shows internationally).
Interestingly, Adult Swim didn’t even take down these watch parties until months later.
Official update by show creators
As of writing this, the closest thing we have to an official release date update on Rick and Morty was back in February by Dan Harmon when he wished happy birthday to Justin Roiland.
In a short video posted on Twitter, Harmon asks for Rick and Morty season 4 from Roiland after wishing him happy birthday through a special hilarious song.
