James Gunn’s yet to be directed movie Suicide Squad 2 has new faces. The forthcoming DC comic will be an independent movie. However, cast from the previous part will repeat their characters. On the other hand, Gunn has turned back to make a new set of collaborators for his ride in DC debut.
King Shark – DC Supervillain
According to a report from Comic Book indicates Michael Rooker will join the squad as King Shark. Karl Kesel created the DC Supervillain in 1994. King Shark was the son of Chandrakha, lord of all sharks.
Rooker has worked in almost all the movies directed by Gunn. Guardian of the Galaxy -Vol. 2, The Belko Experiment, Brightburn are his recent works with James Gunn. The Suicide Squad’s plots are still unknown but for now we know, Rooker will accomplish the role of muscle Croc from the first part.
Suicide Squad 2: New characters introduced
Gunn’s debut into DC with Suicide Squad 2 will be much different. Gunn will lean towards an obscure set of new characters from DC villains. It includes Ratcatcher, Peacemaker (he will kill to sustain peace), King Shark (a humanoid shark) and Polka-dot (believed to have lame powers).
Meanwhile, Will Smith won’t return as Deadshot. But, Idris Alba will take place for now. The other casts include Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn and John Cena will take part as PeaceMaker. Whereas, Viola Davis and Kinnaman will play the same characters.
Rooker is busy scheduling his works for Sony’s Fantasy Land and in HBO’s Detective opposite Mahershala Ali. In Monster Problems, under Paramount Players, Rooker will be seen along with O’Brien as a seasoned hunter.
The Suicide Squad released in 2016, directed by David Ayer grossed $325 and $750 million both domestically and worldwide. The movie starred Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Viola Davis, Courtney and Joel Kinnaman. Subsequently, the Suicide Squad 2 is set to release on August 6, 2021. Peter Safran and Charles Roven are the producers of the movie.
