Buckle up for the greatest event of the year. The Cure will be celebrating their 40th anniversary through hosting their own festival in Pasadena. All of your favourite bands will be sharing the stage together.
When and where will the Music Festival happnen?
The dates for the fest are out. It will be happening on August 31. The festival will mark performances from a number of promising bands and artists. Robert Smith of The Cure has personally selected Pixies, Mogwai, Deftones, Throwing Muses, Emma Ruth Rundle, Chelsea Wolfe and The Joy Formidable.
The venue for the fest is Brookside at the Rose Bowl. The space that hosted Arroyo Seco Weekend for two years. Tickets for the event will be available from May 17. The cost of pass ranges from $149 for general entries and $299 for VIPs.
The rumors for the fest started hitting the ground earlier in the year. Robert Smith told Brooklyn Vegan that they would be announcing another one later in the month which would be curated by them. He mentioned hosting the event on the West Coast.
“There’s going to be ten other acts, all personally picked. I just want to do something more of like Hyde Park. Something lot more celebratory”, he further stated.
Who are The Cure?
The Cure has all together sung and composed 29 songs in their career. They got their first breakthrough from the song lullaby. The band is already packed for the later months of the year. They will be playing album Disintegration in full in their series of four continuous concerts in Sydney.
Their plans further include a multi-night session at Opera House, Sydney. Further tour dates are expected to come out in 2020. They are also working for a new album that will be on board before Christmas.
Additionally, the working of their two major films is in process. Out of which one chronicles their four-decade anniversary concert last year in Hyde Park. The movies will release later this year.
