Netflix is not at all running on action-fantasy TV shows, first The Witcher and now The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. Netflix has held the title best streaming service for a long time and is trying to cover all ‘uncharted-terrains’ and genres for TV shows.

The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance is a prequel to the movie The Dark Crystal which came out in 1982. Further, it is considered a classic and follows the plot of an evil character who is set to take over the world if the magic crystal is not restored. The series will follow the back story to these events.
The production of Age of Resistance started back in 2017. The series directed by Louis Leterrier who is a renowned French film director. He is known for his work in The Incredible Hulk, The Transporter and Now You See Me. Thus, his calibre has already been established in Hollywood and there are no doubts that he was selected to bring all the classic characters back to life.
Last years SDCC concluded that the movie will feature puppets and not CGI and actors will be cast for the voice-overs. The latest trailer took fans by surprise as many of them were not expecting the trailer. Take a look,

Moreover, the writers for this show are Jeffrey Addiss and Javier Marxuach. The trailer showcases a new world, Thra, which is threatened by ‘The Darkening. The story will follow three Gelflings Deet, Rian, and Brea and they unravel secrets which affect their very existence.
The series will consist of in total 10 episodes and each episode will be near to 50 minutes long. The series is scheduled for a late August release. Specifically on 30th August 2019. However, the tone of the series is similar to The Witcher, still, they will be totally different.
