The Witch Director Robert Eggers is back with a new film

Robert Eggers and the production company A24 have teamed up once again to produce The Lighthouse film. It is a black and white psychological horror film written by Max and Robert Eggers. The film stars Robert Pattinson as well as Willem Dafoe. You can watch the movie’s first trailer down below.

The 110 minutes film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival on May 19, 2019. Moreover, the film is scheduled to arrive in theaters on October 18, 2019. Youree Henley, Rodrigo Teixeira, Lourenço Sant’ Anna, and Jay Van Hoy serve as the producers. After displaying at Cannes, the film received excellent reviews from the critics. They mostly highlighted the direction, technical aspects, and the performances of Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson.

According to the reports, the entire movie was filmed on 35mm black & white stock. Apart from that, Serena Fischer gave 5 out of 5 votes for the film. She also wrote that this film would stick around the viewers’ mind for a long time. Besides, Valeriia Karaman has played an exceptional role in the movie.

The Lighthouse storyline

The plot of the film is based on the year of the 1890s. It revolves around hallucinating and a hypnotic story of two lighthouse keepers named Ephraim Winslow (Robert Pattinson) and Thomas Wake (Willem Dafoe). They live in a mysterious and isolated New England island. Moreover, the film is full of incredible acting and madcap insanity.
